Fore Group was engaged to deliver an integrated fit-out alongside a comprehensive base building upgrade of the heritage-listed West Block Building. This project demanded meticulous attention to detail to seamlessly incorporate modern construction techniques and 21st-century services infrastructure within a structure nearing its 100th year, while preserving its heritage significance and delivering exceptional quality. The works included the installation of a secure Zone 3 perimeter, along with over 24 new bathrooms and state-of-the-art male and female End-of-Trip facilities. A complete overhaul of the building’s services infrastructure was undertaken, featuring new Main Switchboards (MSBs) and plant. The project also included the creation of a new café with a fully equipped commercial kitchen, the development of over 550 work points, and the design of 10 breakout spaces and multiple tea points to enhance functionality and collaboration. Further, a Zone 4 secure space with a Type 1A Security system was constructed, alongside multiple Zone 3 communications rooms to meet advanced security requirements. The project also aimed to achieve a 5-star NABERS rating, reflecting its commitment to sustainability. Additionally, four new EV charging stations were installed to support environmentally conscious commuting. This project exemplifies Fore Group’s ability to navigate the complexities of heritage restoration while delivering a space that meets modern standards for functionality, security, and sustainability.
